Video Tutorials: For Faculty

YouTube Tutorial Instructions

Tutorials hosted on YouTube display a red play arrow on the preview and have a larger preview image.

To insert these tutorials into your D2L class:

1. Right click on the video
2. Select one of the link options or the embed code from the drop-down menu.
3. Navigate to the place you want the video to appear in your course.
4. Click Upload/Create > Video or Audio.
5. Paste this URL or code into the text box.
6. Click SAVE.

Panopto/Niche Academy Video Tutorial Instructions

Tutorials hosted on Niche Academy have a green play arrow and display a smaller preview image.

These tutorials are hosted on Niche Academy for the public and are duplicated in Panopto for D2L use. Please see these instructions provided by Learning Technology to use them in your online course shell.

Option 1: Provide a link to the video from within your course.

• Enter a D2L course shell and click Video Tools > Panopto Video
• Click on the dropdown folder navigator near the top of the page.

• Navigate to the Library & Tutoring folder.
• Click on the video you want to link to.
• Click the share icon at the top right of the video.
• Copy the video tutorial link.
• Navigate to the location in your course shell where you want the link.
• Click Upload/Create > Create a Link and paste the link.
• Click SAVE.

Option 2: Embed the video within your course. 

• Email the library to request the embed code.
• We will send you a text file containing the code.
• Navigate to the location in your course shell where you want the link.
• Click Upload/Create > Video or Audio
• Paste the code into the text box and enter a title.
• Click SAVE.
