Job Experience & Internships
Most jobs ask for prior experience, but how can you get that first experience?
Volunteering or working as an intern are wonderful ways to showcase your knowledge and skills.
The resources listed on this page will assist you in finding just the right experience.
Job Experience Resources
An internship can be the key to your success. An internship allows you to gain professional experience, network with others in your field, and enhance your skills while still in school. To be eligible for an internship, you need to have completed at least half your program requirements and have a GPA of 2.0 or higher. To find out more, visit the HCC Internships & Job Services site.
Searching for Volunteer Opportunities
If you have a specific occupational or geographic area in mind for a volunteer activity, an Internet search for your occupation and/or geographic area may be useful. Possible keywords could be very simple, e.g. Volunteer Greencastle, PA or Volunteer "social services" Chambersburg, PA. Information on volunteering in Hagerstown, MD can be found at the link below.
