Texas Learn OER Course

Want to learn more about OER? Take this short, self-paced, 10 module course prepared for DigiTex by Carry Gits from Austin Community College. Designed for faculty, staff, and administrators, you'll learn about open licensing and the Creative Commons; evaluating OER; accessibility; creating, adapting, and sharing OER; and get a good overview of OER use and policy in Texas.

Certification of Completion available. All information including videos within this course, but excluding links to external resources, are licensed under CC BY and available to use, share, adapt, remix transform, or build upon with attribution.

What Are Open Educational Resources?

Open Educational Resources (OER) are free or low-cost educational materials that are in the public domain or have been made available with an open license that allows for their reuse, redistribution, revision, or combining with other materials. OER are typically digital, and can include but are not limited to textbooks, workbooks, lectures, course modules, complete courses, assignments, tests, video, audio, or images.
