In the United States, Valentine's Day is often celebrated with romantic partners exchanging sentimental gifts or traditional items such as candy and flowers. In Japan and South Korea, Valentine's Day is a day for women to bestow gifts on men, while men wait until "White Day" on March 14 to return the favor. South Korean singles celebrate "Black Day" on April 14 by gathering to eat noodles with a black sauce. In Estonia and Slovenia, friends, neighbors, and romantic partners all exchange gifts and cards on February 14, affirming many different kinds of relationships.
