The National Museum of the American Indian and the Smithsonian Institution are currently displaying a virtual exhibition called "Americans" The exhibition highlights the ways in which American Indians have been part of the nation’s identity since before the country began.
Join Student Activities and Chief Rocka on November 6th, 12 - 1:30pm, in the Student Center to learn about traditional dances. After the presentation, stay around to learn how to preform the dances with step-by-step instructions.
Come back on November 7th, 2:30 -4pm, to create your own dreamcatchers.
November 19th
Observed on November 19, Red Shawl Day is intended to draw attention and awareness to acts of violence committed against Indigenous people, especially women and children.
Throughout the week surrounding November 19, people are encouraged to wear red as a symbol of the loss of sacred lifeblood through violence.
